I participated in the group show, clinic, which set the situation that the artist as a doctor interviews the visitor as a patient with his own viewpoint that is usually employed on his work.
The patient, who selected Shiro Masuyama at the reception, is taken to my division and asked to wait for some minutes in the small booth where only a chair is set and a calendar, a bunch of artificial flower and a mirror are hung on the wall. I already starts looking when the patient is in through the mirror, that is as a matter of fact a one-way mirror and a video camera is set behind the mirror to take all the motions of him/her. The visitor seems to be waiting with some anxiety and expectation for the interview to be started soon.
When I call the name of the patient, the small booth gets blackout and he/she can look at the situation of the next room where I am through the one-way mirror. He /she will be even more surprised by entering the door next, finding a large video image of himself/herself is projected on the wall.
Some clips taken from the video are printed on the clinical record.
I would say to the patient who finished watching the video, "The examination is finished. Please wait outside for the medicine." In the end, it is handed as a medicine, a sticker sheet (alike Pri-kura) of 16 frames of his/her expression taken from the video.
